The Kelpie

This piece is inspired by The Kelpie (Herbert James Draper, 1913), a painting that blends mythology and beauty. Draper’s figure, seated gracefully on a rock, carries both serenity and tension, like a creature caught between worlds, emerging from the water yet bound to its mystery.

I sculpted her during the summer, captivated by the painting’s atmosphere and by my passion for transforming classical artworks into three-dimensional forms. Whether seen as a mythical being or a woman lost in thought, she embodies the timeless elegance I aim to preserve in my Classical Sculptures Collection.
