Ifrita

A mother is meant to be the first place we learn safety. But what happens when comfort and fear come from the same place?

Ifrita carries life within her, while two children emerge from her horns, one sleeping peacefully, the other crying out. Her body speaks the familiar language of motherhood, yet she has become something beyond human: powerful, animalistic, nurturing and unsettling at once.

But perhaps Ifrita is not a monster. Perhaps becoming this creature was the only way she could become strong enough to carry everything life demanded of her. Her children rest, cry, and grow within her while she bears the weight of them all. What appears frightening from the outside may also be the shape that survival has given her.
